Fashion In the Streets with Blair Chic

When I decided to open up my boutique one of my goals was to have Blair Chic be on the runway in shows that usually didn’t feature plus size boutiques or designers. Since I started my journey July of last year I have been in many runways shows. I’m proud to say that Blair Chic has become a favorite on the runway due to the confident woman that model my fashions and the strong looks that I style on the runway. I am blessed that they are always a crowd pleaser!

With this being said Fashion in the Streets was new to me.  The location was Downtown Loop on Dearborn between Harrison and Polk. It was my first outdoor runway show, 100 feet runway, and Blair Chic was the only plus size boutique on the roster. Other designers/boutiques on the runway included J Toor, Catherines, Barbara Bates, and one of my favorites True Blessyn. I was also able to share these 2 days with the always fabulous Alysse Ready-to-Stare Jewelry Designer. She always makes me laugh with her stories.

Last minute model bookings, 25 looks, weather, and last minute fittings were some of the challenges we had for this event however the end result was worth it.  The wind from the Windy City was the perfect accessory for the flowy dresses and hair of my wonderful models.

Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show. I wanted to showcase day and night wear and even throw in a fierce one swimsuit piece with cutouts from Monif C.

First time working with Toni but she is stunning in person and did wonderful on the runway. She is wearing a gold studded denim shirt and orange chiffon skirt from Blair Chic!

If you don't know Plus Size Model Hannah Asanah then you don't know what your missing! I worked with her before for a photoshoot and she is stunning in person and as you can see on the runway. Make sure you Google her ;) Hannah is working an neon striped orange body con dress from Blair Chic.

Model Robin Lei has been a Blair Chic fan from day one and walked the runway at my grandopening. She looked heavenly in this Grecian Dress from Monif C.

All of the models did a wonderful job!!! Without them the show would have not been as slick as it was! The models had a little fan club – a group of cold men waiting for some curvy girl heat on the left side and Eva London from InHerGlam Blog and Veronica Larpaccha and friends on the right.

Another bonus for me was being able to watch the runway show since Benjamin Cottrell had his runway production team in full swing.

It was a wonderful experience and I can’t wait for the next one!
